Your payment doesn't go through? Please update your HostMaria account details and this is why ✅
HostMaria
HostMaria has higher security requirements for card payments than your usual online shops, in order to protect ourselves against disputes and fraud.
Please make sure your HostMaria account information (full name, postal code, billing address, telephone address) matches your card details.
Why? When a card payment is submitted to a card network for authorization, Stripe provides the CVC, postal code, and billing street address for them to verify (if you collected these from the customer in your checkout flow). The card issuer checks this against the information they have on file for the cardholder. If the provided information doesn’t match, the verification check fails. A failed CVC or postal code check can indicate the payment is fraudulent, so review it carefully before fulfilling the order.
We believe that PayPal has similar processes, although they are not as transparent as Stripe (our preferred payment gateway).
The payment gateways also will record your IP address. So, it is a bad practice to use VPNs when making payments.
IMPORTANT: Using a card that is not yours (of any 3rd party) will result in TERMINATED account. No warning and no backups will be provided.
