What are Debian maintainer scripts?

In this video series I plan to walk you through Debian package management, starting from the basics right through to what you will want to know as a systems administrator.

Today's episode might be considered slightly off the topic since maintainer scripts are something that package maintainers would normally care about more, but it's good to know about them in rare cases, especially if you managed to mess up your system and got APT in a bad state.
