1981 Slasher Made in 2012

Paying homage to 1981 and slasher movies in general, The Sleeper (2012), takes place in and in the style of early 80s slashers. Well, folks, I watched and reviewed every 1981 horror film and I can tell it to you straight. Not every 81 slasher is good. In fact, most are pretty bad. So is the Sleeper just nostalgia baiting, is it true to the majority of early 80s slashers by being mediocre at best, or is this a true hidden gem that deserves to be in the upper echelons of slasher classics?
