Etherape | - Graphical network monitor and packet sniffer

EtherApe is a graphical packet sniffer network traffic monitoring tool

Personally, I think this is one of the nicest and most useful tools to see what happens in your network environment. Especially in combination with Wireshark.

It is very useful if you want to keep under control the performance of your device. Featuring link layer, IP, and TCP modes, it displays network activity graphically.

EtherApe supports Ethernet, WLAN, FDDI, Token Ring, ISDN, PPP, and SLIP devices. It can filter traffic to be shown and can read traffic from a file as well as live from the network.

Installation:

Debian-based: apt install etherape Arch-based: pacman -S etherape Fedora: dnf install etherape Centos: yum install etherape | https://centos.pkgs.org/7/forensics-x86_64/etherape-0.9.12-1.el7.x86_64.rpm.html openSUSE: https://software.opensuse.org/package/etherape Sourceforge: https://sourceforge.net/projects/etherape/ You can also download EtherApe for Windows. Then choose the link from Sourceforge.net

A GNOME error can occur during the installation. This is very simple to solve through: apt install libgnomeui-0

View system status To view system stats simply run: sudo etherape

(To use EterApe you need root privileges.)

Config Etherape also allows you to personalize the graphic interface according to your needs. You can change traffic filters, ports, nodes, colors, and much more..!
