After replacing a palmrest assembly on an HP 17-by4061nr laptop the touchpad stopped working. In windows 11 the touchpad driver was throwing a code 10. Specifically regarding the Intel serial io i2c host controller a0e9. The issue is HP made multiple different touchpad versions for the series of laptop. While I ordered the correct part the seller I got the part from mislabled the item as being the L92783-001 when it wasn't based on the touchpad it came with. The L92783-001 is supposed to come with a 73H1 PTP touchpad not a 73H0 which is incompatible. If your touchpad doesn't work after replacement this may be why. It isn't fixable by drivers or updates unfortunately.
