In the last video - https://youtu.be/c2HrdSOoVD8 we looked at how we can use git and GitHub to get our data from the Mac into a place where it can be accessed. It gives us versioning and this sharing ability. The next part of the processes to open up Working Copy on the iOS device and to clone the GitHub repository.
After cloning the repository we can bring this into a Logseq folder. It would be possible to manually use Working Copy each time he wanted to bring changes into the iOS device, your iPhone or your iPad. it's far better though to set something up to automate the process. For that we can use an automation in Shortcuts Application.
It's really easy to set up these shortcuts automations. We just need to have two of them. One of them to automate the bringing in of the data when we open up the Logseq application. Then the other one will take the data from Logseq and put into the GitHub repository through Working Copy.
When you're using Git and GitHub you have to Stage the files before you commit them to the repository. so for the purpose of sending files back into GitHub we need to have three actions. The first action stages the files ready for commit. The next action does the auto commit from iOS. And the last action will push the data to GitHub.
I found this worked better if I added some wait time in between the actions. I just added three seconds. At the end I added a sound effect so that it will give me an audible warning of the automation having been run and is finished.
