I have been using our friend for a very long time and I’ve upgraded at least two or three times and I’m now on version five. I have found it are useful tool in comparison to using Mac spotlight for search. A number of useful utilities are added to Alfred especially when you have the Power expansion tools added.
Recently I have found a Raycast and I’m finding that just as useful. Raycast does many of the same things that Alfred does. Looking for files and there’s an action menu which gives you extra tools when you found the file that you want. There are a number of extensions with Raycast and I find them easier to use than the automation tools you get within Alfred.
I have installed a number of extensions including extensions for dealing with git, obsidian and no tagging including one that has a floating note. It’s a quick way to capture something and to send it off to someplace else. How do use for these will be depends upon how they fit into your muscle memory. It maybe you have otherwise of doing things already which hi are inside your head and you don’t even have to think about them.
I’m enjoying Raycast and I thoroughly recommend you giving it a try. What is your preference Raycast or Alfred or are you still perhaps working with the standard spotlight from Apple. Either using Raycast or Alfred or might be both Will improve your productivity.
