Creating Captions for YouTube Video

You can do a captions track with ScreenFlow or you can do it on the YouTube website. ScreenFlow gives a slightly easier workflow with doing the captions track that can be uploaded to your video on YouTube.

There has been a update to the ScreenFlow app since the last video I made. I was a bit hard on the latest upgrade to version 4, but there were a few things that were not as good as they should have been. That was my first impressions after upgrading and I have been using it more since then. I have got used to some of the changes and have found that there are more improvements in there that are worth having.

Telestream don't like it when you tell it like you see it honestly, they terminated the affiliate agreement that I had with a couple of links on my site. Won't make much difference as most people buy though the Mac App Store now anyway.

ScreenFlow is a super app for making screencasts and I will still be using it most days and recommending it to my readers and viewers. I hope they will look at some of the things I complained about in the last video and keep making the app better.

The captions functionality in ScreenFlow is a good tool that I liked using. I am more likely to use the app to do a captions track that use the web interface on YouTube, even though that is not that bad either. In any case the captions track is text that the search engines can find and it is better if it makes sense, done manually rather than relying on the machine transcription which is useless.
