I was asked if it was possible to create a warp on a bitmap in Affinity Designer. I thought it would be possible, but I was wrong. You can change the shape of the bounding box of a bitmap but it does nothing to the image inside. If you want to have the image inside affected by the perspective you apply you have to send the design to Affinity Photo.
The two applications work very well together and it is seamless to switch from one to the other. Changing from Designer to Photo is like a blink of an eye. I found it was good to set up the area I wanted for the perspective before changing from one application to the other. Then when I got into Affinity Photo I had the shape already set up for me too apply the perspective to. The perspective is applied using a Live filter in Affinity Photo.
As soon as the job is done in Affinity Photo you just go back to the file menu in affinity photo and click on the menu item to go back to Affinity Designer. I found this worked extremely well and very quick. If you have both applications then it’s not going to be a problem if you don’t then you might want to consider buying Affinity Photo if this is something you’re going to do frequently.
