Alfred V2 Basic 1

Couple of small changes with this video upload. Using Alfred Version 2 more than just a Mac app launcher. Now with workflows there is almost no limit to what you can do with Alfred by adding mac automation in a quite easy way.

There is a clipboard manager and snippet organiser in Alfred V2 which is quite useful.

In the next video I will look closer at moving around in the folder system with Alfred. Want to get down to showing how to create workflows too. I show 1 workflow in this video. You can get the workflow too.

I had been using Alfred as just an application for launching other apps on my Mac with the occasional use as the calculator for simple calculations, but now I know it can do a whole lot more things. The latest version is version 2 and with the addition of workflows it can be made to do all sorts of things.

This time I bought the power pack to go with the base application that you can get for free and I can do even more things with Alfred. There is a clipboard manager and viewer that also allows the input of snippets. Snippets are going down the similar sort of route as you would if you were using TextExpander. It is very basic in comparison to the TextExpander software, but would be very very useful indeed for inserting certain amounts of boilerplate text here and there.

I have only just started looking at what can be done with the Alfred workflows in version 2 and although it is not quite as full featured as some think like Keyboard Maestro, it does look very interesting and useful. In this video I showed just one Alfred workflow for example and in the next video I will look at more details about how to create workflows for the Alfred application for Mac.
