QGIS: using print composer tips to create a printable version of your map in 5 minutes (gis042b)
GIS-Tips
Translated by NinjaCORE90 - In the first part of this tutorial we saw how to organize the data and styles of the map. Now we produce the layout for export an image with the print composer, ready to print. It is analogous to Layout View in ArcGIS. ▼▼▼
You can place different graphic elements, views, set the position and zoom in detail around millimeter. For the graphics we must have to be a little creativity, but the tools in this great print composer, are great. The output image result (prefer jpeg or png) is very well. Normally the base map is grainy, but this doesn’t happen with QGis!
With Print composer we can export your map also as an SVG which you can fine tune it in Illustrator or PDF if your customer like this format.
We will look at some tips to make it easier to use and understand how to create maps. For more example take a look at the QGIS Map Showcase on Flickr.
