03 - Create and Save a Record of a Model - MongoDB and Mongoose - freeCodeCamp Tutorial

CLARIFICATION : 'data' refers to the data that was created on the database, in this case, the person from the database is returned as a javascript object for easy access. We can write the instances of Models we create to the database as 'Documents' by calling the save() method on it.

Model Models are fancy constructors compiled from Schema definitions. An instance of a model is called a document. Models are responsible for creating and reading documents from the underlying MongoDB database. https://mongoosejs.com/docs/models.html

mongoose.model() When you call mongoose.model() on a schema, Mongoose compiles a model for you. The first argument is the singular name of the collection your model is for.
