Gdevelop FREE VISUAL Game Engine Examples: A PIXEL ADVENTURE GAMEPLAY
Continuing to bring some examples of games that have been developed with GDevelop. In this case A PIXEL ADVENTURE by Ulises Freitas.
A castle in the middle of nowhere, a princess in danger, and of course a brand new hero to rescue her. Enjoy the most epic adventure inside and outside the great castle.
All kind of monsters are trying to stop you, but as a brave hero, you must fulfill your promise and rescue the princess.
This a really funny and well implemented game. We had some problems for a while in finding out where the game was suppose to continue, as some of the platform where hidden in the dark, and we were not able to see them, but after that, it was less complicated to follow through.
Technically, speaking the game is quite achieved and takes the engine to a very good showcase of its capacities. From a design point of view, some work could have been made to make more easy to start to play without getting lost by having missed platforms. Once you know where they are, you are able to guess where they are. SOme of the mechanics are somewhat repetitive, but it maybe because we were not able to advanced a lot through the game.
We will take another shot at it later on.
You can test the game on itch.io https://gamesalia.itch.io/a-pixel-adventure-legion

In its concept it is very similar to Scirra Construct game engine ( somewhat less polished) with a growing community developing games, tutorials and supporting the game engine development.
We are posting a serie of easy gdevelop tutorials to let you start your way into game development.
