Porteus Linux is another Linux distribution based on Slackware Linux. Porteus is not like most Linux distributions out there. Its size is small with latest build is 4.0 at the time of making this post. This build is just under 400MB. Its small size makes it insanely fast. Porteus is optimized to be run from USB drive. But Porteus can be placed on a USB, CD/DVD or memory card and you can run from it there. You can also install Porteus on internal/external hard drive or just one partition of it. Because of its small size, Porteus can be smooethly run on netbooks and old computers.
