3Viz - A New 3D Pre-Viz Method from SuperAlloy Interactive [Eric Jacobus]

Three fight scenes shot and edited using our 3Viz method. By combining Xsens motion capture with Unity (with the help of 18 years of post-production experience), we've developed a pre-viz pipeline called "3-Viz" which produces a modular pre-viz that can be totally modified without any reshoots. TRT: 1 minute.

All action was motion captured using our in-house Xsens MVN Link mocap system and shot and edited in Unity 2019.1.0a13 and Cinemachine 2.3.3. Sound design was completed in Adobe Premiere. Total processing and cleanup for all mocap files was done via HD re-processing in the Xsens software, requiring less than 2 hours. The Xsens system is ideal for 3Viz because it can be set up anywhere within 90 minutes, and its inertial sensors require no camera, eliminating occlusion issues.

Eric Jacobus performed motion capture stunts in Mortal Kombat 11 and was the mocap stuntman for Kratos in Sony's God of War (2018 Game of the Year).
