First train to do a complete circuit of the GVC layout. 24 June 2024

While working on the layout on Monday 24.6.24, I replaced a section of damaged track between two modules (layout sections) and after cleaning the track, decided to send a train over it. Expecting that it would run a couple of metres before hitting unpowered track, to my surprise, the train ran perfectly along the newly energised track and kept going over the unfinished join to the next board - which was already powered, then through one of the longer tunnels. And so it made the first complete circuit of the outer main line. Fortunately I had decided to record the first run. I just hadn't expected to be recording a complete circuit.
The train ran continuously for about an hour after this with no derailments or stalling, apart from a bit of track I'd not fully cleaned. Considering that there had usually been problems with each new section of track we "reopened" I really did not expect this last section to go so well.
Next we'll try the shorter inner circuit - the "Urban Line". And hopefully soon one of the 'shuttle' trains between "Little River" and "Overlook" stations.
Music added because almost 9 minutes of the diesel locomotive sound at a constant speed was a bit too much even for me. ;-)
