Do Mining GPUs Work with Blender? Are They a Good Deal?

Mining GPUs are purpose built cards designed for crypto mining. However, shortly after being made they became somewhat obsolete. Without any display outputs it can be a considerable pain to use these purpose built cards for anything. Here comes Blender to the rescue! With a couple of settings changes (Preferences then select the P106 for Rendering) these once useless cards can be repurposed for all of your animation needs.
However, the question then becomes should you use these cards for Blender? It turns out that the answer is more complicated then it first appears, requiring a comparison between it and other available options. The ultimate answer is that under normal market conditions, the P106 would be a great choice.
