Homemade LED Timing Light
electronicsNmore
How I made a Simple homemade LED timing light for checking ignition timing on motorcycles/scooters/small engines/some cars. The schematic for the LED timing light can be found at the link below. Make sure you REVERSE the zener diode in the schematic. It was drawn backwards. Replace the 5-20v transorb diode with a 20V zener(you can use smaller ones in series to get the 20V). Lower the LED resistor (330 ohm to 10ohm). You will not burn out the LED because the mosfet gate does not open all the way to let all the current flow. Use an ultrabright LED.
