i know that this isn't the original lupin opening but it's the one that's been used ever since part two so to all five lupin fans don't bother complaining about the title i've never watched lupin, might at some point, might not. i've been a busy motherfucker recently so that'll likely not happen in the near future but i'll keep it in mind. once again i find myself in the familiar position of twiddling my thumbs thinking about what i could talk about today. i'm in a talking mood but something that i know next to nothing about isn't exactly the best talking point and i'd rather not look to the random topic generator. is there any like, cool gaming news? i've been seeing on the mongolian basket weaving forum all week ragebaits and shilling over the new assassin's creed, i guess i can give my two cents on that. for context, i've never played assassin's creed, any of 'em, so it is very likely that this will devolve less so in to a gameplay or a racial rant and more so a rant on how bullshit history as a whole is, so buckle in, motherfucker. if you check the catalog on v right now you'll see a gorillion threads about asscreed and by extention, yasuke. yasuke is a historical figure who was under oda nobunaga and arrived in japan representing the jesuit missionaries, if i remember correctly. yasuke is also typically believed to have been an african-american, which supposedly was noted by his contemporaries and is how he has been depicted in various artworks and described in physical descriptions. the physical descriptions actually vary in some accounts, so some people still aren't even sure if he was black or if the japs were just really confused seeing anyone with a darker skin tone. people also have no fucking idea what exactly his role under nobonaga was because the writings remaining are fucky and some people interpret things as meaning that which they do not. here is my problem with ancient history: none of it (besides works that were completed, retained, translated adequately, and checked) is fucking reliable. most of the study of ancient history is pure fucking speculation. in cases like mesopotamia, greece, and later on, japan, mythology becomes very difficult to seperate from legitmate events which actually happened. yasuke was described as having the outward apperance of some youkai which futher muddies the waters in regard to what the fuck this guy actually looked like. people don't even know if half of the biggest historical figures ever were real. socrates? i think he was probably a legit human that lived, but a ton of people think otherwise. people like to say that he was made up by plato but that's fucking retarded. gilgamesh? eh, maybe. enkidu was 99% not real but they say that gilgamesh was the king of uruk at some point, but the point at which the real gilgamesh and the fictionalized gilgamesh overlap is unclear because of the sheer amount of accounts that aren't founded upon anything relating to him. the epic of gilgamesh isn't even fucking complete. history, because of this lack of concrete information in many a case, is as such very easily manipulated. this is where shit gets dangerous. really fucking dangerous. the problem with speculating on history is that anyone who carries the loudest or most wide-spread opinion will be hailed as he who states fact. this in turn becomes an issue when the loudest and most widely-accepted opinion will come from (((big media))) companies owned by (((a certian type of person))) used to sway public opinion and understanding. the printing press made it a lot easier for people who want you dead to silence your individuality and your opinion in favor of feeding the masses and telling them what is and isn't real. people describe yasuke as a samurai but we don't even know if that was real because his position is debated but in this new game he is indeed a samurai. at the end of the day, i don't fucking care about asscreed or black people in asscreed. am i sick of dei bullshit? maybe. but frankly i'm more so sick of it in the sense that it's shitting up the shitposting video game discussion board just like it always does. i don't give a fuck about gay people or minorities in video games, i don't fucking play new releases besides sonic games. i just think that a lot of history is unreliable and there is no such thing as "historical accuracy" in many cases therefore this just comes off as pandering and figuratively gay. if you're going to make a video game about a historical period then just fucking make up a character like what people have been doing for all of recorded history in creative storytelling instead of plucking some guy who might have been black and might have been a samurai for your game. welp, almost out of space. despite everything, the legit accounts in and around the bible are real as fuck. it's a fun read even if you aren't a christian. as for versions, the kjv is pretty alright. that being said: have a wonderful day, gentlemen. god bless. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GytNWjSnfl0
