DRAGON + STORM 8 BIT REMIX - NEW GETTER ROBO + SHIN GETTER ROBO VS NEO GETTER ROBO (JAM PROJECT)

i've talked about getter before but did i ever talk here about how my actual birth name was supposed to be 'storm' until seconds before i was birthed? my parents had a giant list of names that they had been considering and were pretty much set on storm, but apparently the nurse hated it out of the options they had told her about, so she named me with one of the other names on the list. just a funny story and probably some part of the reason as to why i like storm so much. still haven't seen shin vs neo, or new getter, for that matter. i might eventually, but i really am fond of the getter manga because of ishikawa's art. you can really tell that he worked as an assistant for nagai in the early getter series but he really came in to his own eventually. i'll always have a soft spot for the style that is most commonly associated with go nagai, but something i learned a while back while reading about the history of kamen rider was that nagai was the assistant of the creator of rider, shotaro ishinomori, who in turn was an assistant to osamu tezuka. if you don't know your ching chong artist names then this is probably entirely incomprehensible but i don't care, lol. if you're in any way in to chinese cartoons in a reasonable manner then look up the stuff made by these guys but if you're a total drooling weeb then please leave immediately, your kind is not wanted here. the main thing i find to set apart drooling weebs from people who just like ling long rice language media is whether or not they're learning japanese and/or actually want to go to japan. i own a ton of plastic/metal figures of toku stuff and a few super robots (i am terribly irresponsible with money) but i can function in society and not drool over the idealized version of japan sold to us on the internet. any white motherfucker who wants to go to japan for anything other than MAYBE light tourism should look more in to japan to begin with. they're a massively nationalistic nation and tourism is an incredibly devisive topic for the locals. i wouldn't want to disrupt the order of things by bringing my english-speaking ass non-japanese ass down there. when i was a little boy, i remember really wanting to visit japan, but i learned over the years how fucking gay that notion was. i stopped being a drooling weeb coming up on like, six years ago? since then i've been in the "contrarian elitist who doesn't like anything released past the early 2000s and hates associating himself in any way with greater anime culture online because the majority of such people are [homosexual slur]s" which is about where i'm at in regard to vidja games, too. every time a new game that i think might be really good comes out it always ends up being forgettable and underwhelming. i was really fucking hoping that dragon's dogma 2 would be pure kino and i've heard.... mixed things about it up to this point. i haven't played it yet - probably won't until i build the new computer at some point later this year - but when i do, i'll let you know what i think about it. don't get me started on how much sonic frontiers let me down, man. the gameplay was fun but it was lacking in so many places that it just wasn't good. i've complained before about how much i hated the vocal themes and how the ost really only has like, two good songs? maybe? neither of which were the vocal ones. i miss crush 40. you ever see that fucking awesome video of the crush 40 guys playing knight of the wind live in a studio to reveal the track? go look it up, it's titled something like "hey all - knight of the wind by crush 40" and it's on their official channel, but it has been dormant for a while. i can't help but be let down by modern games and other chinaman media when it wasn't that long ago when stuff was actually good. it's a problem with the market and a problem with companies. the market will buy any slop so long as it is in their favorite series and companies very well are aware of this ergo they see it that they can just release pure shit and people will still buy it and defend it. i think that might be in part some of the reason that i like older media so much, because everything was a gamble back then. people could put a huge amount of time, money, and effort in to a television show or manga series or video game and not be entirely sure whether or not it would pull in numbers but still pushed on just because of the will to create something of quality and that holds artistic value. that just isn't there anymore in most cases, and it sucks because taking risks is one of the best ways to foster growth and change in any medium. take risks, create because it's fun and be unique in doing it. just because something is popular or will pull in numbers doesn't mean that you should be mindlessly following an ambition related to that. timestamp time 00:00 dragon 01:05 storm almost out of space, leave song suggestions in the comments please :) have a wonderful day, gentlemen, see you next week. god bless. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o985rQHDwoA
