Ai Wo Torimodose 8 Bit Remix (Version 2) - Fist Of The North Star

back when i did my first hnk video i made the description some really awkward to read sentence and didn't go into as much detail as i could have as to how much i absolutely love fist of the north star. i was too uncomfortable with writing descriptions in my own voice and didn't think i could ramble like a schizophrenic for a few paragraphs and actually knowing that at least a handful of people would read it. i only got into fist of the north star something around five or six years ago - far sooner ago than i had discovered most other ping pong ling long comics - yet unlike most other japanese cartoons of which ive often swayed from loving to hating to forgetting about before the cycle repeats, i've always really liked fist of the north star at a consistent rate. actually, it might be the only anime that ive really lived ever since i discovered it. i deeply love dragon ball, and it means a lot to me, but for like 7 years i completely just forgot about it in pursuit of other chinese cartoons. so, full stop, fist of the north star is my favorite shonen series on a critical level. everything about it is perfect. by the final fight with raoh hara's art is so fucking good that anything else looks like scribblings of a child in comparison and buronson knocks it out of the park with every single arc. my favorite story arc in hnk is the southern cross/souther arc, which also has my favorite villian and battles. shu is such a badass, and the backstory with him and ken made me love him more. when he got crushed and fucking died i felt that shit in my soul. easily my favorite side character since rei (who also fucking died). souther is such a good evil character. he's like the gold standard of a charasmatic calculated villian. raoh is great too and such an absolute menacing beast in every scene he appears in, yet i still somehow prefer souther. y'know now that i think about it, this series is the gold standard for a lot of things. the art is top-fuckin-notch, and the storytelling is, too. AND THEN for some fucking reason they decided to do a timeskip after raoh dies and the entire story crumbles and turns to total shit because those greedy bastards at jump didn't want their long-time popular series to die out despite buronson clearly not knowing where to take the story after the conclusion so that jump can make just a bit more money. the art stays pretty good after the timeskip though and is breathtaking by the end of the timeskip. one of the few things i like about post timeskip hnk is the "i kill the fight" song, most notably used in the fight with ken and han, if i remember correctly. tough boy is also a really good opening theme, on par with this one. even at its lowest points, however, fist of the north star is still leaps and bounds above anything ive ever watched or read. i just don't think that post-timeskip hnk is near as good as pre-timeskip. bring back manly shonen please it's been fucking dead ever since toriko flopped (toriko is really good by the way) and im sick of the pussy bitch boy main characters that little children slobber over. this is how we end up with stupid weeb kids and retarded edgelords, because they only have those kinds of things to watch and read in modern day because that's whats popular. anime generally has exploded in the west in popularity and it is still jarring for me. pussy bitch boy main characters are a blight on society and also forced woman fanservice in most modern ping ping ling long cartoons. no fucking wonder we have so many insecure bitch boy cunts in the upcoming generation. something something the west has fallen something something hokuto shinken is still fucking invinsible ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QjtNj4UuLI
