Yesterday someone asked me about getting a USB drive to work on Kali in VirtualBox. That's a good question and a great video idea, so I put together a video showing how I connect USB drives in VirtualBox and Kali as well has how to map a network drive from a Windows computer.

This video assumes that you have already shared a drive or folder from your Windows computer before you get into that part of the video.
