Installing Docker & Portainer with new OMV-Extras (June 2023)

It looks like OMV-Extras has removed Docker, Portainer, and Yacht from their setup in order to push people to start using OMV's new built-in Docker container management solution.

I've had a few people reach out to me about this recently, so I made this video to help people install Docker and Portainer with the new OMV-Extras plugin as a foundation.

INSTALL OMV-EXTRAS - SSH in and run:

wget -O - https://github.com/OpenMediaVault-Plugin-Developers/packages/raw/master/install | bash

INSTALL DOCKER Enable Docker Repo in omv-extras Go to Plugins and install openmediavault-compose Go to Services Click Compose Click Settings Click "Reinstall Docker"

INSTALL PORTAINER SSH into your OMV server and run: docker run -d -p 8000:8000 -p 9443:9443 --name portainer --restart=always -v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock -v portainer_data:/data portainer/portainer-ce:latest
