Checking Out My Maxed-Out HL15 Server from 45Drives

In this video, I unbox and discuss my new HL15 server from 45 Drives. Over the past week, I've been exploring its capabilities, including hardware pass-throughs on Proxmox VMs and setting up Home Assistant. My goal is to consolidate multiple devices into this powerful unit to reduce power consumption and simplify administration.

I detail the HL15's maxed-out configuration, including its Xeon Gold processor, 256GB of RAM, and unique customizations. Despite some mounting challenges, I'm thrilled with its performance, especially the IPMI feature for remote management and the Houston Control Center for monitoring.

I also share my experiences with stress testing, future cooling upgrades with Noctua, and setting up Proxmox with various storage pools. Additionally, I discuss adding an RTX 2070 GPU for Plex server transcoding and a 10G network card for enhanced connectivity.
