How not to long range (or how I learned BART uses UHF for communications)
Daniel Stinebaugh
So first off, HUGE thanks to the BART employees that helped me get this back, 3 day's of communications with Michelle from customer support and then Larry the brave groundskeeper who actually retrieved my drone, Thanks again! You guys rock! For background, this was the first mid-range test of the r9slim reciever at 10mw, and everything was going swimmingly until I entered the airspace above BART (our subway in the California bay area), yea yea, I know.... RSSI was great, right up to the tracks, then I was washed out, and landed on the wrong side of the tracks. But happy ending, the only loss was the battery which was drained completly. Gotta say that the AKK fx2 (not ultimate, I bought this before that was released) held up great, at 200mw for the life of an 1800mah 4s and is still working just fine. Hellgate buzzer had already stopped beeping though, curious about that 2 week proposed lifespan... This is my 6" build, was testing using 5" props so it does look a little weird I know.
