PS5 Backwards Compatibility 🔽 Will Sony's new PS5 be backwards compatible with PS4, PS3, or even PS2 games? Should it be?

People are already talking about the PS5. Sony Interactive Entertainment's President and CEO Shawn Layden recently confirmed in an interview that it was in the works and president Kenichiro Yoshida stated that the company is working on a next-generation console in an interview with the Financial Times. There is no confirmed release date but its quickly becoming clear that the PS4 is nearing the end of its life cycle. It’s been a great console with lots of great games but the one thing that has held the system back is its lack of backwards compatibility.
