16 Linux Commands in Rust
DJ Ware
The old unix-like utilities which are included with our many distributions of linux are all based on models from over 50 years ago in some cases. I know other YTbers have been looking at this, so I thought I would do some research find my own list of favorite commands than I would use, and share them with you. The new Rust based versions of these linux utilities are fresh, extremely useful and kinda fun to see actually. My only concern for some of them is that the developers need to keep in mind one of the strengths of Linux (and Unix) was to be able to chain the output from one utilities to the input of the next. The new layout of the output is great, but please give us a way to produce raw text output so we can continue to use pipes and filters. Otherwise great work Rust Devs!
