I didn't quit. But it's not an uncommon feeling to have. Especially if you don't feel like you are getting anywhere.
In this video, I wanted to share part of my story and how it is a difficult journey that is worth pursuing.
Here are 5 more reasons why you shouldn't' quit learning to code.
- If you keep working at the same job you hate, the next 5 years is not going to get better.
Here is the deal, if you are not actively pursuing a course of action to make yourself more valuable by developing a high in-demand skill. You won't be able to improve your lifestyle.
Your current job, unless you love it and making enough money to have the lifestyle that you want. Staying there is not a solution to your problem.
- I don't have time to learn something new.
That's complete BS, and you know it. You have to stop watching Netflix. Start waking up a little bit earlier and going to bed a little bit later.
Regain at least two hours per day that you can use to study and develop a skill.
- I don't have money to go back to school.
This is the worst excuse someone can ever give. You can buy a 300 dollar laptop or any used computer that you can get for free.
There is FreeCodeCamp.org that provides a great curriculum you can follow, and plenty of free tutorials to keep you busy.
I would argue that this field is least expensive in terms of education to get in to.
- I am not smart enough.
Maybe true. But you are definitely smarter than me. Probably younger too. If I can do it, so can you. Don't stop learning to code. You can do it.
- It's a constantly growing field that is in high demand.
There is definitely no job shortages in this field. So stay persistent and keep gong.
Anyway, thanks for watching and I will see you next time. Happy coding.
