Most people want to know how to study programming effectively. My answer to you is to be laser focus and to set goals and constraints of what you are allowed to learn.

As self taught web developer, we suffer from "the shiny object syndrome" and tend to jump from one tech to another tech without learning anything in depth.

We end up learning a little about a lot, which is the number one reason why we can't seem to learn anything, even after years of study.
