In this HTML and CSS tutorial for beginners, I will talk about why you shouldn't just code but should play your project out first.

I will go over a simple mockup design that I came up with, how to lay it out, and what should you think about before coding.

I know that there are many great programming tutorial channels out there, so thank you for choosing mine. I

f you are brand new to learning HTML and CSS, this tutorial is right for you. The biggest mistake that I have made when learning to code, is jumping into code, before even knowing what I was going to make.

I can't stress the importance of planning out your project, web site, or design on paper first. Make a mock-up, think about the logic, think about individual components that are required to build your app.

You should have an idea in your mind on how you will accomplish your task, or at least know what you need, and where to look it up, to get started.

With the mock-up, you now have a plan of action, an outline that you can use to guide you in your process. So after watching this video, I would like to challenge you to try to make this design on your own.

If you get stuck, use google or go to the MDN website to look up some of your HTML, CSS, and Javascript related questions. Outline on paper what building blocks do you need to accomplish your goal.

Use Google Developer tools to see source code for some of your favorite Websites and see how they are structuring their HTML, use the style selector to try and change the look and feel.
