In this video, I want to discuss why goal setting and New Year's resolutions don't work.
As a self taught web developer, I made a lot of mistakes when learning to code.
I learned the hard way that it is not your goals but procedures and constraints that you set that you practice every day that will help you to become a software engineer.
Another challenge of becoming a web developer is coming up with a curriculum you can follow to get your first job.
You can look up web development roadmap videos on YouYube to give you some ideas.
For example, if you are looking to become a frontend developer, you need to learn HTML, CSS, Javascript, and React as a bare minimum.
So the trick is finding out what you need to learn to get the job and creating a process of daily procedures that will get you there.
Goals are just things you would like to achieve, but they do nothing to get you where you want to go.
Systems and procedures are your instructions to get you to your goal.
Let me know in the comments the daily routine that will help you get to your goal.
Happy New Year and happy coding.
Let me know in the comments your thoughts. Would love to hear about it.
