It’s not that you are too old, but that you are asking the wrong question.

Instead, you should ask yourself if you will be able to get a job that will make you happy and content.

There are a lot of promises out there that make It sound that all you need to do is complete 3 months of a coding boot camp and you will be all set.

That is not true. So in this video, I would like to help you decide is it worth pursuing a career in web development as a second career.

Here a few things to consider...

1. Do you have what it takes to code? Yes, this sounds simple. But the truth is not everyone is cut out for this type of work.

You need to be able to spend long hours studying, figuring things out but mostly sitting in front of your computer.

It’s not unheard off spending 8 hours at a time.

2. Are you willing to keep learning for the rest of your life?

There are many another career that is probably easier to stay current in. Programming is not one of them. If you stop learning you will become irrelevant within months.

If this sounds like not something you want to do then maybe you shout rethink your future as a web developer.

3. It’s really hard.

I don’t care what people have told you. But learning to code is really difficult. Especially if you have no prior experience or starting late in life.

You really have to immerse yourself in the lifestyle. There are no casual programmers that are doing this professionally.

4. Do not do this just for the money.

It’s not worth it. Sure you can have a great income, but it will require a lot of work and effort. The competition is fierce.

You have to be willing to go the distance.

5. Job success and placement is not guaranteed. What will you do if you can’t get hired?

There are no guarantees. If it is to work it is 100% percent up to you. Are you ok with that?
