Carbene Addition to Alkenes

This lecture continues to look at alkene reactivity. We know examine carbene addition to alkenes to create cyclopropane products as three membered rings. Carbenes are highly reactive and must be prepared in solution prior to reaction. They will always add in a stereospecific manner to preserve initial stereochemistry around the alkene.
