LMDE 5 Migration
The Independent Linux User
It is time to say goodbye to Opensuse Tumbleweed. Time to go back to a static Linux distribution.
Welcome to Linux Mint Debian Edition 5 Elsie. For a long time, I like to go back to a static release. Right now I am back to this distribution that I love most. It makes running Linux distribution hassle free.
I install this one yesterday April 19, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the afternoon. Then I migrated all my files to this distribution.
Beginning to like this from the time I install this. It is only in Cinnamon Desktop Environment. But it works pretty fine for me.
I learn to get along with Flatpak and Snaps packages here and I got a few install here. It work just fine.
Firefox and Thunderbird is in its latest version. Packaged by Linux Mint it self. I have both Kdenlive Flatpak and regular Deb files install here.
I would like to see Linux Mint Debian Edition 6 came out. Can’t wait to upgrade to that version.
Linux Mint Debian Edition is very easy to install and use. I install mine in less than 2 minutes. And an 30 minutes to get all the programs I need install including the codecs and non-free firmwares.
So if you want a Linux distribution that is easy to install and respect the opinion of users and has a stable static releases, then Linux Mint Debian Edition 5 is your jam.
I will be using this installation of Linux Mint Debian Edition 5 as my daily driver for now. And stop distribution hopping. This migration to LMDE 5 is a success for me.
