Do not listen to people who are trash talkers. Your Computer is Personal.
The Independent Linux User
Do not listen to people who are garbage in what they are saying. You are the one who is making the decision here. You are the one who are using your own computer. That is why it is call a personal computer. If people dictates what type of software you should use on your computer, then that is not a personal computer.
One time; in my video, there is one person who commented that, this distro is underrated. Well, you know what my answer is.... ”It doesn’t matter if your distribution of Linux is underrated. What matters is that, that distribution of Linux makes you happy and satisfies your needs.” Then that commenter never comment on it again.
If you have a knowledge in the distribution of Linux, you know some of those distributions can be a little to hard to work on for beginners, and semi-advance users. So they make a distribution that are beginner friendly. There are also distributions of Linux that are semi-rolling and rolling release. Meaning software in that distribution keeps on updating. So I have enough with the semi-rolling and rolling distribution of Linux. And decided to go in the static release side of Linux. This time, I install Linux Mint 21.1 Vera on my Intel Core2Duo laptop.
It works like a boss to me. It is a stable release. I only add a few PPAs for KdenLive, OBS-Studios, LibreOffice, Persepolis, Ubuntu-Cleaner, Mozilla and xtradeb. So I can install the latest software that I ever need in my daily computing. It doesn’t matter what operating system you use either Windows, Linux or MacOS. If you are happy with what you are using, then stay there. You don’t need to listen to the opinions of others that will destroy your system.
I am happy with what I been using now. And I like to see Linux Mint makes a better support for older hardware. This distribution of Linux is my go to if I need a stable system that works.
Eventually I might migrate to the LMDE6 if it came out. But for now, I’ll stay on Linux Mint 21.1. This is my home distribution for my laptop. Because my laptop is old, but it works. I can still make and edit 720p videos and 1080p videos that I can upload to YouTube and Odysee. That is much more important for me. I can also surf the web, watch YouTube videos.
No plans of upgrading to a new hardware. Because this is a Japanese NEC laptop. A very tough system. It lasted me for more than 20 years. It has undergo a lot of trials but it survive the time and it keeps on running.
So, do not listen to people who makes trash talk. The opinion is all on you. Because it is your computer. It is your personal computer. You decide what software you want to use. And no one can dictate what software you can use. Because it is yours.
