In this video we see how to connect a modern PC with a #DOS PC using the #RS232 #serial port, connecting a modern PC with an Olivetti M24. We see all the required hardware and software, both on the #Linux side and on the DOS side (We see the programs lrzsz , minicom , Texas #Zmodem , Public Domain Zmodem). We'll talk about a #BASIC program (translated from QBasic to GW-BASIC) to handle hex files, and we'll talk about #Python programs that convert binary files to text (including the BOO format - Bootstrap from the Kermit project).
