Bob reviews his top eight personal favorite features on the Dell Latitude 7402 Extreme Rugged Laptop and he counts them down. The eighth feature on this list is the port covers on this unit. The port covers have a neoprene cushion on them making these port covers better than those that are on other rugged laptops. They also have metal hinges and they snap when you close them. Number seven the countdown is that the hard drive and the battery are both removable without any tools. To remove the hard drive, all you would do is open the port cover door and pull the blue tab on the M.2 SSD and it comes right out. The battery is the same way, all you have to do is open the door on the bottom of the unit and hit the latch to release it. Feature number six is the battery. Dell says that a brand new battery should last about eight hours while there are some users on forums are saying that they are getting four to five hours out of their batteries. This is more than likely due to these users using max settings on brightness and other settings that could just drain the battery. The fifth feature of the 7402 is that this unit comes with a touchscreen. This touchscreen is also gloves capable. Feature number four on the countdown is the keyboard that comes on this unit. The 7402 comes with a full-size keyboard even though this unit comes with a 12-inch screen. Normally with smaller screens, the manufacturer makes the keyboard narrower and that is not the case on the 7402. The keyboard is also backlit so the keys can be seen in the dark. The third feature of this unit is that the touchscreen is resistive so you have to press on the screen to get the pointer where you want it to go, preventing accidental taps or swipes from occurring. The second best feature of this unit is the military standard rating and the IP rating on this unit. This unit sits at the MIL-STD-810G with an IP rating of 65. Last but not least, the best feature of the 7402 is that the screen rotates allowing this unit to be able to flip and become a tablet. There is also a camera on the bottom of the unit so that while in tablet mode, you can take pictures.
