EP 110: Getac S410 SHORT Walkthrough!

Let's briefly walk through the semi-rugged versatile Getac S410 Laptop! In the 110th Episode of The Rugged Rundown, we'll review this laptop's great standard features, available upgrades, and accessories.

To start, the Getac S410 is a semi-rugged unit built to the MIL-STD-810H with an IP rating of IP53. It has a 14-inch screen with 1920 by 1080 screen resolution and a touch screen. It comes with a couple of programmable buttons that are labeled P1 and P2. Those sit right with the power button. The S410 also has an LED keyboard with responsive keys. Although they are less robust than the Dell 5400 series. The processor in this unit is an Intel i7 with 16 gigs of RAM. The battery life on this unit is 10 hours, or at least that is what the Manufacturer totes. This factor depends a lot on the usage of the unit. This Getac comes in weighing 5 1/4 pounds; this weight is calculated without the AC adapter. I find it pretty light. The handle on this unit is a rubberized grip that is quite flexible and eases into your hand, offering more flexibility. Moving on to ports, it comes with 4 USB ports, a SIM card slot, an SD card reader, a headphone jack, an HDMI port, RJ45 nic port, SVGA external monitor port, a docking port, a hard drive slot with a hard drive caddie, an RS232 or in other words a serial port, and a dummy slot for a potential CD ROM drive. These ports also come with port covers that fold down and snap-in. The unit's appearance reminds you of a tank because of the indentations on the cover of the monitor.
