The difference between the Free Software Movement versus the Open Source Movement
awuuwa
Free Software Movement was started by Richard Stallman to pursue the Liberation Of Cyberspace, to achieve software freedom. Open Source was initially started as a disguised version of Free Software distancing itself from the values of freedom to appeal to people who are made feel uncomfortable by ethical qustions. Open Source then became a movement of it's own, now based on those values of avoiding the ethical questions in favour of practical advantages related to the development of the software.
Open Source believers who say they support Free Software are lying, there is no "mixing between the movements".
