Jason and the Argonauts - Part 3 | Ancient Greece Revisited
Ancient Greece Revisited
The adventure of Jason and the Argonauts in four parts:
Part 3
Passing through the Thrashing Rocks, the rocks that keep our existence split into pairs of opposites, Jason and Argonauts reach Colchis, where the real danger begins. Luckily for them, someone caches a glimpse from above, Hera and Athena, protectors of heroes, and decide to help. Before ascending however, a hero must fist go into a "katavasis," a descent into the darkest reaches of his own psyche. For the Greeks who comprised a part of the Aryan tribes that came down from the Eurasian Steppes, this meant descent meant sinking into the lowest levels of their psychic history, and the world of the Great Mother Goddess they conquered over when they came down with their spears of iron. A world of feminine powers, bull-fights, and snake-dancers. A world were the ultimate treasure, the Golden Fleece, lies in waiting.
