I am installing MinGW, which will give me access to the GCC (Gnu C Compiler) on the command line. This will be useful in my OpenGL tutorial for when I show how to get things done on Windows.
I prefer working from the command line rather than from an IDE. The IDE offers all kinds of settings, and it's both a feeling of developing dependency on the IDE, and also the feeling that when things go wrong, I might wonder if there is something wrong with my settings in the IDE, that make me generally steer clear of IDEs. I may end up making a video on how to get GLFW running in Microsoft Visual Studio, or maybe even with VS Code (which is more of a text editor than an IDE). If you would like such a video, please leave me a comment.
Alternatively, I am now taking video requests for just a $5 pledge on my Patreon, so you can always do that and I will be guaranteed to pop out a video as quick as I can (if the request is reasonable). I got my first supporter on Patreon recently and I am super happy about that! I have also been happy about getting quite a lot of new subscribers and recent attention on Reddit, so thank you very much to everyone for that. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVnvzcKZ4Ng
