How and why to convert mkv to mp4 (how to remux with OBS)

OBS is cross-platform, so it'll work with Windows, MacOS, or Linux.

I know this is super simple, but I wanted to make this to point to in my other videos, and also because some might be intimidated by the weird name (remuxing) when it's really just super simple to do. I also thought some might try to do it with Streamlabs, which will not work.

(From the video): mkv format is nice because you will not lose your data if your computer crashes. However, if you are editing your videos you will likely want the mp4 format (most video editing software such as Resolve and Premiere do not accept mkv format). The downside is that you will end up with both mkv and mp4 (if you are editing your videos) and you have to take the time to remux (it doesn't take long though). I just delete the mkv files after remuxing to mp4, so it's not a big deal.
