Sound Design & Composition #1 // Sound-Color Melody
WHITE LION Music
Sound Design & Composition is a series where i explain various topics that can't be covered separately for sound design OR composition without the other. In these topics, the line between them is blurred and interconnected.
Klangfarbenmelodie (German for "sound-color melody") is a musical technique that involves splitting a musical line or melody between several instruments, rather than assigning it to just one instrument (or set of instruments), thereby adding color (timbre) and texture to the melodic line.
In this episode i am showcasing a modern example, which is a blend of electronic music and classical music and talking about very general sound-color melody principles.
There is a chance i will come back in future with very specific ideas for this technique where my showcase will be basically a whole music track devoted to the technique.
