Telltale's THE WALKING DEAD Definitive Series - Episode 2 - NO COMMENTARY - Part 3
What's Next?
Telltale's The Walking Dead: Episode 2 - Starved for Help is a pivotal installment in the series, released on June 27, 2012, for Xbox Live and on June 29, 2012, for other platforms. This episode continues the story of Lee Everett and his group of survivors as they face dire circumstances in a post-apocalyptic world filled with walkers (zombies) and human threats.
Plot Summary
The episode begins three months after the events of the first episode. The survivors are struggling with dwindling food supplies and rising tensions within their group. Lee and a new character named Mark venture into the woods to hunt for food but soon encounter a dire situation involving another group of survivors.
Encounter in the Woods
Lee and Mark hear screams while hunting, leading them to find David Parker trapped in a bear trap, surrounded by two teenagers, Ben Paul and Travis. As walkers approach due to the noise, Lee must make a critical decision: either chop off David's leg to free him or leave him behind.
If Lee chooses to save David by amputating his leg, he passes out from pain but is carried back by Mark. However, if Lee fails to act quickly or decides not to help, Travis attempts to rescue David but ends up getting shot during the chaos.
Return to the Motor Inn
Back at the Motor Inn, tensions escalate as food rations are low. Lilly has taken charge of rationing food but refuses to distribute it without input from Lee. Players must decide how to allocate limited food supplies among ten survivors.
Depending on who receives food, relationships within the group can change significantly. Characters like Kenny and Lilly express their frustrations over resource allocation.
The Dairy Farm
The St. John brothers—Andy and Danny—arrive at the Motor Inn seeking gas in exchange for food from their dairy farm. The group decides (or is forced) to visit the farm.
At the dairy farm, they meet Brenda St. John and are offered hospitality in exchange for assistance with their electric fence that keeps walkers out.
Confrontation with Bandits
While clearing walkers from the electric fence, Mark is shot by bandits hiding nearby. This incident heightens suspicions about the St. Johns' dealings with these bandits.
After returning from an encounter with bandits where they find evidence linking them back to the St. Johns’ farm, players must navigate increasingly tense interactions with both groups.
Dinner Revelation
During dinner at the St. John's home, Lee discovers that Mark has been severely injured and hidden away after having his legs cut off for meat—a shocking revelation that leads him to warn others not to eat what’s being served.
A confrontation ensues when Lee tries to expose this horrific truth about cannibalism practiced by Andy and Danny St. John.
Escape from Captivity
After being knocked unconscious during a struggle with Danny St. John, Lee wakes up locked in a meat locker alongside other survivors.
Players face moral dilemmas regarding whether or not to assist Larry (Lilly's father) when he suffers a heart attack under stress during captivity.
Final Confrontations
The climax involves escaping from captivity while dealing with various threats posed by both walkers and hostile humans.
Decisions made throughout this episode culminate in significant consequences affecting character relationships and survival outcomes.
