Thoughts Are Not Facts | ACT Defusion Exercises
Wellness Talks with Todd J. Schmenk, LMHC
Hey All, Todd Schmenk here, and here is one of my more recent favorite exercises to help you both defuse from a thought (or a group of thoughts) a well as experience the self-as-context (along with being present to boot!)
It is a simple exercise which uses your hands to lay out two lists of experiences so that you can compare noes and make better decisions. I have found that this often helps those struggling with unwanted thoughts, recurring thoughts, and the sense that they might not make the right decision again.
It's short, but it is a good tool to have, and you will always have this set of tools with you.

The main goal of this channel is in educating people on how the human mind and body work to help develop greater psychological flexibility. When skills and concepts are practiced with purpose and intent, it has been demonstrated that a good deal of our suffering can be decreased.
