How To Disengage From Negative Thoughts | ACT Defusion Technique
Wellness Talks with Todd J. Schmenk, LMHC
Hey All! Thought I would return to an oldie but goodie that often needs to be reviewed. It is a simple defusion exercise that when followed along and coupled with the worksheet attached and linked to below helps you to develop this skill further.
What would your life be like if you could notice when you have been hooked by a thought? Notice when you are pulled into this thoughts embrace? Put on this thoughts lenses which will alter how you see the world and the current situation. I imagine you would be happy with that correct? And rightly so since this skill is both useful and critical in developing one of several habits to increase your psychological flexibility, making you more open, aware, and then able to engage in acts that matter.
Wishing you the best!
