How To Restart Or Reboot Ubuntu Linux From The Command Line Terminal

In this video, I will be showing you, how to restart your Ubuntu Linux system using the command line terminal. The two commands I recommend you use to restart your Ubuntu Linux system, are the shut down command with a restart option and the reboot command. Throughout this video guide, the Ubuntu Linux machine I am using is a server hosted on a server host provider called Vultr.

Steps To Restart Ubuntu Linux System:

1. Log into your Ubuntu Linux server via SSH (If doing restarting a server)
2. In the command line/terminal type one of the following commands and execute the command:

shutdown -r now

or

reboot now

Key: -r = This stands for restart or reboot.

Congratulations, you have successfully restarted or rebooted your Ubuntu Linux system from the command line terminal.
