How To Make A Text Document (.Txt) In An Ubuntu Linux Terminal

In this short video, I will show you how to create a text document in an ubuntu linux terminal. To create the text document we will be using GNU nano. GNU nano is a command line interface text editor for Linux operating environments and Unix computing systems.

Command to create a text document:

nano yourchosentextdocumentname.txt

Your text document will then be created and GNU nano text editor will then open and you are free to type within the text document.

• To save your newly created .txt document press CTRL + O

You will then have the option to rename your text file.

• To save and exit out of nano press CTRL + X

• To list the files of the current directory you are in type: ls

You should now see your newly created .txt file's name.
