In this video, I will show you how to how to find the level-seed of your randomly generated Minecraft world or server.
Steps To Find The level-seed Of Your Randomly Generated Minecraft Singleplayer World
Method 1 : Finding the level-seed of a Singleplayer World
- Open your Minecraft Launcher and left click on Singleplayer
- You will now be in the World select screen where you can choose a singleplayer world from your world list. Select a world you would like to know the level seed of by left clicking on it.
- Once done, click on "Re-Create" at the bottom of your world selection list.
- You should now be able to see the level-seed of your selected Singleplayer world. The seed is displayed in a box titled "Seed for the world generator". The seed is displayed in numeric characters.
Method 2 : Finding the level-seed of a Singleplayer World
- Repeat steps 1-2 above
- Once done, click on "Play Selected World" to be taken into your Minecraft singleplayer world.
- Once in game, type the letter "t" on your keyboard
- Next, type /seed
- Your singleplayer worlds level seed will now be displayed, to copy it to your clipboard, simply left click on the seed's numerical characters.
Steps To Find The level-seed Of Your Randomly Generated Minecraft Multiplayer Server
- Open your cmd/terminal window and make sure your username has operator privileges. If you're not an op already type "op yourusernamehere" without the quotations to give yourself operator in your own server.
- Next, open your Minecraft Launcher and left click on Multiplayer
- You will now be in the Play Multiplayer page where you can see a list of your added servers.
- Connect to your multiplayer sever by left clicking on it to select it and then left click on "Join Server" to be taken into your Minecraft server
- Once in game, type the letter "t" on your keyboard and type /seed
- Your Minecraft server seed will now be visible. Left click on any of the numeric seeds characters to copy it to your clipboard for your own personal use.
Note: Alternatively, to skip the hassle of having to op your username and connect to your world to get your Minecraft multiplayer server level seed, you can simply type "/seed" without the quotations in your cmd/terminal window. Your level-seed will now be displayed in the cmd/terminal window. To copy the seed to your clipboard, simply highlight it.
