Steps To Add A Server Icon To Your Minecraft Server:
- Stop your Minecraft server if it is currently running by opening up your cmd/terminal window and typing the word "stop" without the quotations to stop your server
- Once your server has stopped, find the image or picture you're going to be using as your new server icon
- Check your image's file type by right clicking on your image and in the general tab opposite "type of file" you should your images file type. The desired file type for server icons is PNG. If your image is not a PNG file but is a JPG/JPEG file type for example, then you will need to convert it into PNG. Here is a video we made on how to do this conversion titled "How to Convert JPG To PNG Image With A Transparent Background" https://youtu.be/HAufhfCni9o
- Once have converted your image to PNG (if it was necessary to do so) the next thing you need to do is check your PNG images dimensions, by right clicking on it, going to properties and then navigating to the "Details" tab. Under Image and opposite "Dimensions" you should see your specific image dimensions in width x height in pixels.
- The required image dimensions is 64 width x 64 height in pixels (64x64) a perfect square. If your image is non-proportional or is smaller or greater than the required image dimensions for use as a server icon you will then need to resize your desired image. To do this, follow the steps demonstrated in our video titled "How To Resize Images Or Icons In Windows 10 - No Installation Required" https://youtu.be/VBjDmIBQtP4
- Once you have resized your PNG image to a nice even 64x64 pixels there is one more requirement required. You must now rename your image to "server-icon" without the quotations. To do this simply right click on your image and left click on "Rename". Delete the current name and replace it with "server-icon" all in lower case without any spaces or typos. 7.Once you have completed all the icon requirements (file type= .png, Image Dimensions= 64x64, File Name= server-icon) you're now ready to add this image file to your Minecraft server folder.
